Familiarity with the rules of the game is important for all players, as the Rules Of Golf define the underlying principles of the game and must be adhered to in all competitions.

On 1st January 2019, a radical revision of the Rules of Golf came into effect. The range of changes is extensive and will be challenging for many to get used to, even changes of terminology - "Water Hazards" become "Penalty Areas", with wider application, for example.

All players should familiarize themselves with the 2019 changes to the rules.

2019 Rule books are available free of charge from The Office and the Pro Shop, and can be downloaded in PDF form from the R&A. There is a lot of information available on-line from the R&A Rules Page and the USGA Rules page. The "Decisions on the Rules of Golf" publication will no longer apply. Golf Australia also has a comprehensive page about rules.

The R&A Downloads page has PDF forms of the Rules of Golf in a number of languages as well as quick guides. There are also smart phone and tablet Apps for rules from the Apple App Store and Google Play store, the R&A Apps page has links.

An excellent summary of the changes is available from R&A at the https://www.rules.golf web site.

The Match & Greens Committee has rewritten our local rules in the context of the 2019 rules changes. The new local rules introduce some new options that will benefit players. For current information visit our Local Rules page and the club noticeboards.
